The **Pacific Ocean**, especially its warm, plankton-rich areas, provides an ideal habitat for manta rays, except during winter months when some populations migrate to deeper or more tropical waters. ## **2. Other species of rays around the world** The term "ray" encompasses over 500–600 species across 24 families.
