MOTU TAUTAU

Will you join me? Today, I am taking you to a tiny corner of Polynesia, in the Leeward Islands, tucked away to the west of Tahaa, the famous vanilla island, the motu Tautau. In the lagoon Tautau, this little gem is surrounded by an exceptional coral seabed. This magnificent coral garden teems with tropical fish of dazzling colours; you just have to watch out for the sea urchins that nestle in coral heads. The motu itself is natural, notably hosting a luxury hotel with bungalows, which does not detract from the place, remaining one of my favourite spots in Polynesia. Don’t expect a fine sandy beach here; like its neighbouring islands, there is no beach, except for the "Joe Dassin beach" on the island of Tahaa, which I'll tell you about another time!! The absence of a beach gives way to this extraordinary coral seabed, making it an essential place for snorkelling enthusiasts. I almost forgot... to get there, the best way is by outrigger canoe, a blissful moment you will never forget....
