The Origin of our Cultured Pearls

• Tahitian Pearls : Often considered as the pearls of Paradise, the Tahitian pearls, also known as black pearls because of the mother of pearl Pinctada Margaritifera Negra of which it is the fruit of a long and caring culture, come from the sparkling lagoons of French Polynesia and mainly from the Tuamotu-Gambier islands. They are famous for their deep colors and unique iridescent reflections.
• South Sea Pearls : Renowned for their large size and exceptional luster, Australian pearls, sublime pearls of South Sea are cultivated in the pure waters of the Indian ocean and the Pacific. Their color palette ranges from silver white to gold, including champagne. They are very popular especially in the United Arab Emirates, their rarity and their price make them the most expensive rare pearls of the cultured pearl market. Its mother of pearl is the Pinctada Maxima.

The freshwater mussel used to grow these  pearls is known as the triangle mussel, its scientific name is Hyriopsis cumingii.
